Evasive Inquiry Agency (or Mixed-Up Investigative Agency) has been a love affair for me in more ways than one. I love the show, with all its quirkiness and heart. And I have fallen in love with the gangster boss. WHO, I asked myself, is this MAGNETIC actor? And where has he been all my life?

I’ve hesitated to blog about my mega crush on Park Hee Soon because, well, it’s kinda embarrassing. Also, I have some vague notion of keeping my blog spazz-free and classy (ha ha). But without too much pushing from my enabling friend Thundie (evidence here) I thought, Oh what the heck.

Random (non-spoilery) thoughts:

A show that is entirely predictable and rather unpredictable at the same time is quite a thing to behold.

Lee Kyung Hee (scriptwriter) really does so love exploring self-loathing.

My love for Song Joong Ki is not deterred by his unflattering new look, a look so smirky it gave me a momentary Yoo-Ah-In-in-Fashion-King flashback *shudder*. Ergo, my love is pure.

Verdict: Improbable but Arresting.

As is her habit, writer Lee Kyung Hee ratchets up the pain and damage in Episode One. The roller-coaster is dragging up its load of angst and broken dreams, and at the end of Episode One it stands poised on the pinnacle… Will it be a gratifying ride to the bottom, taking us along the ups and downs of life but eventually arriving safely at its destination, a la her Thank You? Or will it derail and smash, a la her A Love to Kill or Will It Snow for Christmas?
